"Informed Teens Retreat May 2010" - Apr 14, 2010 The spring CACY Informed Teens Retreat will be held on Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at the Richland County Fairgrounds for middle and high school students in Richland County.  The students are chosen by their individual schools.   Heather Schultz, nationally renowned motivattional speaker, will be at the spring retreat.   Local speakers are Greg Kahl from Richland County Children Services and Buffi Williams from MOESC.

 

 
 








"Pamper Your Role Model" - Feb 19, 2010

The essay contest is in collaboration with Ohio Parent's Week each September.  We accept essays in  two age catagories.  Students in grades K-5th and 6th - 12th can participate in this essay contest sponsored by CACY and the Richland County Prevention Partnership.   Write a special story, paragraph, or poem about your parent/guardian or special adult in your life.  Express what he/she has done to help you or others. 

Please be specific, including details and examples of why he/she is a good role model.  Contest winners and role models will receive recogntion and gifts.  The essays are due (to be announced).   Mail to: CACY  1495 W. Longview Ave.  Suite 104  Mansfield, Ohio 44906.  Questions, call us at 419-774-5683. 

IN 2009:  Awards for the Pamper Your Role Model Contest was held on Friday, October 2, 2009 during Family Fun Night at Friendly House 380 N. Mulberry St. in Mansfield with food, games, door prizes, open gym, and swimming.  Time:  6:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. 



 

 
 








"Future Stars Jr. Golf Program" - Apr 14, 2010 Article by Elayne Snyder

In 2009 CACY was awarded a one-year matching grant from the United States Golf Association (USGA) for the Future Stars Junior Golf Program.  CACY collaborated with Richland County Children Services and North Central Golf to provide 70 boys and girls ages 8 - 13 from the Success Center Summer Program at Ocie Hill Neighborhood Center with golf instruction at North Central Golf for 10 -12 weeks that began on Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.  CACY recruited mentors to help youth with the summer golf program.  Mentors began on June 8th for instruction at North Central Golf from 11 a.m. - 12 Noon.  Students received a golf bag and five clubs if they completed program requirements. 

NOTE:  Mentor and student recognition at Twin Lakes on Tuesday, August 18th from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.  Golf began at 10 - 11:30 a.m.  Lunch/recognition wasfrom Noon - 1 p.m.
